Mark W. Stultz, 63, of Leawood, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013.
He was born on April 10, 1950, to Bruce and Beryldine Stultz in Kansas City, MO. He grew up in Prairie Village and graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School. He was an Eagle Scout with Troop 91, Village Presbyterian Church. He continued his education at the University of Kansas where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and graduated with a degree in Journalism.
He married Janie Ratchford on June 2, 1973 in Prairie Village. After marriage they made their home first in Prairie Village and later in Leawood.
Mark worked with his father and brother at Stultz Manufacturing for 26 years, a commercial woodworking company founded by his father and grandfather. Later he was a Senior Sales Executive for Reece and Nichols Realtors, where he received several five star awards.
He was a member of the Village Presbyterian Church, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Alumni and Corporation Board. He loved being outdoors, working on home projects, helping friends and family members with their homes and was an avid Jayhawk supporter.
He is preceded in death by his father Bruce Stultz.
He is survived by his wife Janie Stultz; one daughter, Amy (Asa) Tysseling; mother, Beryldine Stultz; two brothers, Greg Stultz and Jeff Stultz; one sister, Jennifer Knowles; one grandson Grant Tysseling who was the apple of his eye.
Services will be at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. Family will receive friends at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the funeral home.
