Marlene Elizabeth Luechtefeld

Marlene Elizabeth Luechtefeld, 80, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on January 2, 2023, with her family by her side.

She was born to the late William and Martha Rupp on May 27, 1943, in St. Louis, MO. Marlene graduated from Southwest High School in 1961, marrying her childhood sweetheart, William Eric Luechtefeld in December of that year. Together they lived in St. Louis for 60 years before relocating to Overland Park.

Marlene is survived by her husband Bill, of 62 years, and her two children, Bill Luechtefeld (Jennifer) of Overland Park, KS and grandchildren, Kate Fowler (Jordan) and Gunther Luechtefeld; and Kathy Pachman (Greg) of Young Harris, GA, and grandchildren, Jessica Pachman-Hults (Brian) and Hunter Pachman (Jordan).

Marlene spent many years as a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO as well as Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was known for her impeccable taste and was always perfectly turned out whatever the occasion. Her attention to detail and good taste extended to the creation of a beautiful home for her family to enjoy. 

Marlene’s family will celebrate her life privately and ask that people make donations in support of Carmelite Monastery, 9150 Clayton Rd., Ladue, MO 63124 in lieu of sending flowers.
