Martha ?Martha Rose? McMahan Schottler, 88 of Prairie Village, KS passed away peacefully July 4, 2007 at the Somerset Healthcare Center.
Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 9th at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
Martha was born March 19, 1919 in Aurora, MO. She was a medical secretary for many years in the Kansas City Area. She was married to Arnold Schottler for 35 years, together they raised two children. Martha was a person who enjoyed life and loved to laugh. She was an avid bridge player and read the newspaper daily up until her last days.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold in 1987 and her son, Jon Schottler in 1996. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Spear and her grandsons, Derek and Connor Spear, all of Winter Park, FL; her grandchildren, Kelly Schottler, Rochester, NY, Melissa Schottler, Jonathan Schottler, Travis Graf and former daughter-in-law, Suzie McHale, all of Kansas City. Also surviving are her nieces, Sandra Lahr, Lynda Anderson, Pat Jones, and Judi Bowling. Her family wishes to thank all the staff at Somerset Healthcare Center for the loving care given to her.
