Marvella Plapp

Marvella Keen Plapp, 85, Overland Park, KS, passed away on November 30, 2017 at her home.
Marvella was born on March 8, 1932, in Kansas City, KS to Lena and Elvin Keen. She graduated from Westport High School and played the violin in the orchestra. She had many high school friends, who became her lifelong friends, that she kept in touch with. Marvella obtained an Associates Degree and worked as an assistant for Bruce Dodson Co.
Marvella married Elmer Plapp in 1954; they were married for over 50 years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 60 years and she was also a board member for the Johnson County Community College. She was also a caring mother and a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Plapp; mother, Lena Shank Keen; father, Elvin Keen; sister, Ruby Keen Reuss; and brother, Buel Dean Keen.
Marvella is survived by her son, Kurt Plapp; daughter, Karen Reeves and husband John Ster; 2 grandchildren, with their spouse’s, Kristi & Mike and Rob & Jessica; 4 great-grandchildren, Mikaela, Dylan, Trey, and Memphis; nieces and nephews; along with many friends and loving pets.
Private services will be held for the family.
