Mary Jean(Jeanne) Broadhurst, 89, Lenexa, KS, passed away November 6, 2016. She attended Stephens College in Missouri and graduated from Denison University in Ohio in 1948, as a Phi Beta Kappa, with a major in English literature. She married John Broadhurst that same year, subsequently living in cities in New York state, and then in Cincinnati, Ohio, where her two children were raised,
She and her husband moved to Kansas City I 1972. Jeanne has been active in various church communities, and also enjoyed her tutoring of both children and adults. For many years she facilitated “wellness” programs at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She had a deep and abiding faith, and served as a Lay Chaplain at Lakeview Village.
She is survived by her son, John, and his wife, Ellen, and by her grandson, Daniel; and also by the children of her late sister, Ann Welty.
