Mary Suzan Cramer, age 74, Beloved wife, mother, sister & grandmother, passed away September 20, 2017 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 25th from 9:00-10:30am at St Michael The Archangel Catholic Church, 14251 Nall Ave, Leawood, KS. Funeral Mass will follow at 11am. Internment at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Suzan was born in Plattsmouth, NE to Harold and Mary Anne (Pound) Lebens. She graduated from Plattsmouth High School and Creighton University. She met her husband, Stan, at Creighton and they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Suzan taught in the Shawnee Mission School District. Together they had two sons, Sterling and Spencer.
Over the years Suzan was an active volunteer in many areas, including: Leawood Welcomers, Ladies of Charity, Junior Women’s Philharmonic, Kansas City Ballet Guild, Rockhurst High School Mother’s Club, Holy Cross Catholic Church choir, Catholic Education Foundation, & various decorating committees for church & school. Suzan and Stan will be honored at Gaudeamus (Catholic Education Foundation) next month as the 2017 recipients of the Angels Among Us award.
She loved entertaining at home as well as at the family lake house, playing cards with friends, making heirloom baby blankets for family and spending time with her 6 grandchildren.
Suzan is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mary Anne Lebens and a sister, Genevieve (Genny) Vonnahme. Survivors include her husband, Stan; son Sterling and daughter-in-law Dawn; son Spencer and daughter-in-law Christy; grandchildren Page, Meghan, Linsey, Gregory, Laine & Kaelyn; brothers Frank (Sandy) Lebens and Don (Barbara) Lebens; sisters Sally (Dan) Spellman, Feeny (Sam) Peterson, Mary Anne (Greg) Bailey, Trudy (Tom) Graves; 30 nieces and nephews and 40 great nieces & nephews. The family suggest contributions in memory of Suzan to her favorite charity:
