Mary Goodenow

March 24, 1916 — June 1, 2016

Mary Lou Goodenow, 100, passed away June 1, 2016.  She was born march 24, 1916 in Kansas City, Mo, the daughter of Frank Lewis and Helen Louisa (Schuler) Marsh.  She graduated from Central High School and then married her love, Jay Goodenow.  She was good with numbers and did secretarial work as well as helping her husband with their books for their company.  She also worked  for the IRS as a Supervisor.  Mary Lou and her husband were founding members of St. Johns Methodist Church where she also did secretarial work and founding members of the Leawood Country Club.  She loved to play Bridge, Entertain and Sunday dinners.  Preceding her in death was her husband of 54 years, Jay and her sister Pauline Brunn, brother Carl Marsh and son in law, Charles Hulsey.  Survivors include her two daughters, JoAnne G. Hulsey of Overland Park, Merilee G. Queen (Steve) of Ottawa, grandchildren, Donald G. Stearns (Jennifer) of Lenexa, Robert A. Stearns of Overland Park, Melanie LaMar (Chris) of Ottawa, Luke Queen of Ottawa, great grandchildren, Melissa Blevins (Jesse), Owen LaMar, Mia Lamar, Robert Stearns, Jr., Dalton Stearns, D.J. Stearns, great-great grandchildren, Jalynne Blevins and Olivia Blevins.  The family suggest memorial contributions to Harvesters, 3801 Topping Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64129 or to Knox Presbyterian Church, Children's Ministry, 9595 W. 95th Street, Overland Park, KS, 66212.  Visitation will be from 10-11 with service at 11, Saturday, June 11 at Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf.  Graveside services will be 12:30 at Mt.
