Mary Gronau

Mary Margaret Morgan Gronau, 97, Lenexa, KS, passed away on January 18, 2019 at Delmar Gardens in Lenexa.  She was born on August 31, 1921 in Pittsburg, KS to Charles Morgan and Irene Throndson Morgan.

Mary grew up in Pittsburg, KS, where her father was the football coach at Pittsburg State University (formerly Kansas State Teachers College). She attended Pittsburg public schools and Pittsburg State University where she was on the student council and was elected Queen of the yearbook in 1942.  While in high school, she was sophomore class president and a cheerleader.  She married Raymond Gronau in 1949 who survived her but passed away on March 11, 2019.  They had one son Jerry Gronau who predeceased her.  Her two brothers, Jack W. Morgan and Bill Morgan both predeceased her.

Per Mary's wishes, there will be no service held. Inurnment will take place privately at Johnson County Memorial Gardens in the indoor mausoleum, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210.
