Mary James-Coyne

Mary Etta Coyne, 88, passed away January 11, 2016. She was born December 29, 1927 in Rogers, Arkansas to Holas and Johnnie Carson. Mary was an only child and her parents were farmers.
After High School, Mary worked for Vita Craft Corporation where she started out as a packer on the line and eventually worked her way up to become the Shipping and Traffic Manager. She had two children, Gary and Gail. Mary also was blessed with 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mary enjoyed listening to Gospel radio, and Big Band tunes, but Christmas music was her favorite. She loved watching Dancing with the Stars and America’s Got Talent. Her favorite hobbies were sewing, doing puzzles, and going out with her friends. Mary was most proud of her promotions at work and also very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary really enjoyed going out and trying new restaurants and also going to Branson to see the shows.
There will be a visitation from 2-2:30PM, with a service to begin at 2:30PM on Friday January 15, 2016 at Johnson County Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Continua Hospice-Kansas, 13002 State Line Road, Leawood, KS 66209.
