MARY GERALDINE “JERRY” SKILES
Mary Geraldine “Jerry” Skiles, 94, passed away August 20, 2010 in the Care Center of Lakeview Village, Lenexa, Kansas. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, at 10:30 A.M., in Heritage Activity Center at Lakeview Village, 9100 Park, Lenexa, Kansas 66215. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Lakeview Village Foundation or Village Presbyterian Church.
Jerry was born February 21, 1916 in Pocatello, Idaho, the daughter of John and Edith Lloyd Jobson. Her family moved to Marceline, Missouri where Jerry attended elementary and high school. Following graduation she moved to Kansas City, Missouri and worked for Folger’s Coffee Company and later Black and Veatch Engineering in bookkeeping and payroll. She married Kenneth R. Skiles in Kansas City, Missouri on October 16, 1954. Jerry was a member of Village Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 2002; also by her parents and a nephew, Kenneth B. Brockman.
Survivors include a niece, Beverly Brockman Bel Cher (Jim) of Chatsworth, CA; and a nephew, Kent E. Crippin (Christine) of Leawood, Kansas.
