Mary Kimbriel

Mary Louise Dake Yeamans Kimbriel, born May 21, 1916 in Mountain Grove, MO, passed away on March 6, 2013 at Overland Park Nursing and Rehab.
Mary lived in Johnson County for ninety years and graduated from Shawnee Mission Rural in 1934. She married Donald B. Yeamans that same year. Mary then worked as a young mother, waitress, and dental assistant. In 1946, she married L.J. Kimbriel and started a new family. In the early 1950's, Mary and her sister, Trudy, started volunteer work with the Red Cross at several different hospitals. In 1965 they were offered "real" paying jobs at Shawnee Mission Hospital. She continued working there until 1998, retiring at the age of 82.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband L.J. Kimbriel and daughter Cynthia Doyle. Survivors include Barbara Smith (Ivan), Donna Smith, E.J. Kimbriel (Denny), Steve Kimbriel (Barbara) and Kim Kimbriel. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
