Her education continued at Kansas State University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi, graduating in 1971. She then earned a master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Kansas in 1973 and founded the department of speech pathology at St. Luke's Hospital.
Mary wed William Henry Brooks on August 7, 1971. She was a wonderful mother to her children: Adam, Molly (and husband Adam Dixon), and Matthew. She was a loving grandmother to Asher, Bram and Nora Mae Dixon. Mary also leaves behind siblings Elizabeth Naibert, Dr. Robert Musil, and Dr. Donald Musil, along with eight nieces and nephews.
Mary will be remembered for her humble service to her family and friends, and her warm hospitality. Her home was always open to others (even needy piglets), and the rooms were filled with laughter, food, warmth, love, and an open ear. Above all, Mary was a devoted follower of Christ. She demonstrated her faith in Christ through her active service at Colonial Presbyterian Church and her joyful outlook in every circumstance.
