Mary was born of Greek immigrant parents, Constantine and Despo Vedros, in Kansas City, Kansas and spent her early years in the close-knit Greek community of Armourdale. An honor student at Argentine High School, her love of learning continued through her whole life. She worked as a secretary before marrying and becoming a loving and devoted wife and mother. Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed travel, and was active in philanthropic organizations. The ease by which she made and kept close friendships was proof of her fun-loving spirit, generosity, and kindness. She will be truly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Palaskas and survived by her son, Constantine Palaskas, and her sister, Aglaia Vedros.
