Mary Ann Porch

Mary Ann Porch, Buzzy, age 86, formarly of Overland Park passed away Monday, October 16, 2023.

She was a beloved Wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. 

She was a graduate of Shawnee Mission Highschool and the University of Missouri - Kansas City. Her chosen career was dental hygiene. She was passionate about dental health. She chose to focus her talents on her family.

Her love of animals led her to volunteer at the Heartland Therapeutic Riding for several years. She also enjoyed golfing and hiking. 

She was an active and supportive  member of the Indian Council of Many Nations and the American Volkssport Association. She was a member of the KC Native American Ministry. 

She was proceeded in death by her husband Dr. Richard C. Porch, the love of her life; her parents, Dr. John M. Clayton and Dorothy E. Clayton as well as her sister Jane E. Schopper.

She is survived by her two daughters Jane E. Truitt and Mary D. Bessey; her grandsons Damon L. Truitt, Chris M. Truitt and Nick J. Truitt; her granddaughters Jami K. Bessey and Christine E. Bessey as well as three great grandchildren. 

She will be interred at Johnson County Memorial Gardens Saturday October 21st. It will be a private ceremony officiated by Larry Bowden, HCA Hospice Chaplain.

The family would like to express thanks to the members of the HCA Hospice team and the care givers at Brookdale Overland Park memory care unit for taking such good care of her.
