Mary E. Warrior of Mission, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the age of 91. She was born on May 22, 1920 in Waverly, Iowa, the second of ten children born to Leslie and Amanda Strotman. She married Dean Warrior on July 22, 1942 and after living in Hampton and Des Moines, Iowa, they moved to Kansas City in 1956. Shortly after moving to Kansas City they joined the Old Mission United Methodist Church where they remained members until their respective deaths.
Her husband Dean preceded her in death. Survivors include her son John (Cathie) of Overland Park, KS; her daughter Susan Orr of Blue Springs, MO; granddaughters Lindsay Orr of Blue Springs, MO and Mary A. Warrior of Overland Park; two brothers, two sisters and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210, with visitation at 5PM and a memorial service at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to KC Hospice House, 12000 Wornall, Kansas City, MO 64145. A private family burial will be held at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
