Mary K. Jones

Mary Katharine Jones, 92, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away October 30, 2020.

Mary K. was born January 3, 1928 in Kansas City, Kansas to Ben E. and Lily N. Burnett Wright.  The family moved to Lebanon, Missouri where she lived for 20 years.  She has lived in the Kansas City area since 1950, and in the Olathe area since 1972.  On November 8, 1952 she married Leonard C. Jones and their family was completed with their daughter, Debbie.

Mary K. was a cosmetologist all her life, except 10 years when she worked for a doctor in downtown Kansas City, MO.  She loved to garden, sew and also spent many hours volunteering at Olathe Medical Center.  Mary K. is a member of College Church of the Nazarene, Olathe, KS.

Mary K. was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leonard C. Jones, her brother, Robert M. Wright and her sister, Mildred Louise Handley.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Jeffery) Higgins, two grandchildren; Rachel O’Brien and Michael Higgins, three great grandchildren; Loralye O’Brien, Ronan O’Brien and Thomas O’Brien.
