Marylin Jean McKinley, 82, Leawood, Kansas, surrounded by her family, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, March 3, 2006.
Marylin was born June 16, 1924 in Parsons, Kansas to Charles D. and Vesta A. (Rickard) Kimmel. She married the love of her life, William G. McKinley on June 17, 1941. They were married for 46 years before he preceded her in death. P.S. ?I love you?.
Left behind to cherish her memory are two sons, William McKinley and wife Gayle of Wichita, Kansas, Chuck McKinley and wife Myra of Overland Park, Kansas; her daughter, Linda Ramey and husband Bob of Kansas City, Missouri; five loving grandchildren, Chris, Scott, Marci, Jason, and Jeff; eight great-grandchildren, Keean, Mitch, Mindy, Korin, Samuel, Mark, Macy, and Ellie; her niece, Mary Pearce and her daughter Whitney, of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Marylin provided a loving home for her children and their friends and family while they were home. She worked in retail sales at Rothchilds and Jack Henry. She was an active member of Leawood United Methodist Church and member of Order of Eastern Star, Eva Chapter #18, for over 50 years. But most importantly, she was our Mother.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of The Manor at Grace Gardens who loved and cared for her the last few years and also the Crossroads Hospice team that saw her through the last precious days. A celebration of her life will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 6th at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held 6:30 ? 8:00 p.m. Monday at the chapel.
