Matthew Tollefson

Matthew Ryan Tollefson entered the world on July 19, 1978 and departed on September 16, 2022.  He is now in a better place along with his dad and grandparents.

Matt attended high school in Silver Lake, Kansas and graduated as valedictorian in 1996. He attended K-State University and graduated with honors from the civil engineering department.  He was a licensed engineer in the state of Kansas and was presently employed by Kansas City Structural Steel.

He is survived by his twin daughters:  Eve Caroline and Elle Suzanne Tollefson.  They were his pride and joy and a very bright light in his life.   Also surviving is his mother, Susan Barnes and his step-father, Dennis; his sister, Manda Mcphee; his niece, Karina McPhee; many aunts, uncles and cousins, and his long time friend and mentor, Ed DeMoss, who was always there for Matt no matter what.

We will miss you Matt, until we meet again.   His celebration of life service will be held on October 13th at 2:00pm at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66210.  Memorial contributions may be made in Matt’s memory for a scholarship fund that is being set up.  Please make the checks out to Susan Barnes.
