Matthew J. Wheat, 55, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2010 at Providence Medical Center. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 14 at 2:00 pm at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS, 66210. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association.
Matthew was born on August 4, 1954 in Kansas City, MO. He lived most of his life in Shawnee, KS.
He was preceded in death by his father Jay Wheat, a brother and grandparents. He is survived by his mother Catherine Wheat, son Shaun Wheat, daughter Melissa A. Reed, one sister, three brothers, grandchildren, Shianne M. Wheat, Micheal T. Wheat and long time companion and caregiver Lisa Braught.
