Mrs. Maureen Vernon

March 9, 1926 — December 16, 2009

Maureen Vernon, 53, of Overland Park, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 after a very long and courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer. She was surrounded by her family and friends upon her exit from earth and greeted by her beloved husband, Jerry, upon her entrance into heaven.
Maureen was born on March 9, 1956 to Raymond (dec’d) and Peggy Dapp in Levittown, PA. She grew up in Overland Park, KS. She was an avid gardener whose gardens were the envy of all who saw them. She loved her family and her friends and was an incredible woman! Maureen had a true passion for living life and lived her short life to its fullest. Even during her very lengthy illness and subsequent limited abilities, she never complained and treasured each and every moment. She touched the lives of all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Jerry Vernon; her father, Raymond Dapp’ her brother, Jeffrey Dapp; and her son-in-law, Ray Arnold. Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Walker (Mike) of Raymore, MO and Heather Arnold of Austin, TX; sons, William Fowler of Overland Park, KS and JB Vernon (Samantha) of Elizabeth City, NC; grandchildren, Sarah Arnold, Drew Arnold, Bailey Arnold, Katherine Vernon, Hunter Arnold, JR Vernon, Landon Walker and Colton Vernon; mother, Peggy Dapp of Overland Park, KS; four sisters, three brothers and many nieces, nephews and close friends; in particular, Sylvia Ruiz, who made her life a more beautiful one!
Mom, you are gone but will never be forgotten and we love you and will miss you every day! Give Dad big hugs and kisses from us!
