Maxine Hukill

August 3, 1920 — June 27, 2011

Maxine Prodell Hukill, age 90, formerly of Lexington, MO, Independence, MO and most recently Olathe, KS, passed away on June 27, 2011 at Hospice House of Kansas City.

Maxine was the oldest of eight children, born August 3, 1920 in Jack’s Fork, MO. to William and Goldie Bartle. Maxine took great pride in her title of “Meanest Mother in the World” and happily passed it on to her daughter. She was a much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Other titles ever dear to her were Director of Food Services at Wentworth Military Academy, Lexington, MO from 1956-1973 and hostess at the Olive Garden restaurant, Independence, MO for many years.
Maxine was a loyal KC Chiefs and KC Royals fan, sporting their respective jerseys and watching all of the televised games.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Thornton (Tony ) Hukill; sisters, Billie, Margaret Ann and Janice; one infant daughter, Christie Prodell. Survivors include her daughter, Lylette Utz and her husband, Don, of The Woodlands, TX; four grandchildren, Sean Asbury (Melissa) Ashley Brogden (Rodney) Allison Edwards (Aaron) and Blake Asbury; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Gerry, Norma and Dorothy; one brother, Harry and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 P.M. and Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Walker-Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO 64067. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to KC Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd, KC, MO 64145.
