Maxine Marie Loats, 83, formally of Prairie Village, KS, returned to our Lord Jesus on Friday, April 12, 2013, at Kansas City Hospice House.
Maxine was born in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Bertha and Henry Huegel. She earned her bachelor's degree in nutrition from Purdue University. She was a registered dietician at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, MN and St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Maxine was a long time member of Village Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed taking care of her family, cooking, gardening, cross-stitching and knitting.
She was united in marriage to John Loats in 1960 and he survives her. They had four children: Bob of Kansas City, KS, Tom (Tena) of Overland Park, Kathy (Tom) of Leawood and Bill (Julie) of Lawrence. Ten grandchildren: Ben, Miranda, Jack, Abby, Louise, Joe, Daniel and Betsy Loats and Nick and Spencer Powell. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Huegel of Lafeyette and her Aunt, Elsie Olvey of Noblesville, IN.
A funeral service for Maxine will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS. Burial will immediately follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS. Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Johnson County Chapel.

Maxine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, and friend. She will forever be missed.
