Merle A. Davis 87, died, May 10, 2008.
Merle was born in Westport, Kansas and lived most of her life in Overland Park and Prairie Village. She attended Shawnee Mission Rural (now North) High School. During the years she was active in a number of organizations. She was a charter member of Brookridge Country Club and an avid golfer for 37 years. In addition, she served on a number of P.T.A organizations as well as the Alpha Kappa Lambda Mother?s Club, and was a founding member of the Overland Park Historical Society. Merle was a member of the Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and William Lightfoot of Overland Park, and her brothers William, Lester, and Mark, as well as her beloved husband Chuck. Merle is survived by her son, Chuck and his wife Kathy, and loving granddaughters, Katie and Lauren of Washington, Missouri.
Family and friends will celebrate her life Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 9:00 am at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel at 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210.
