Merlene M. Morlan, 94, Overland Park, KS passed away February 21, 2016. Born January 15, 1922 in Republic, KS to Archie and Nina Morehead. She married Dale Morlan of Republic, KS in 1943. They had five children.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Dale, son Roy, three grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law.
She is survived by daughters Teri Criqui (Doc), Topeka, KS and Cheryl Morlan, Olathe, KS and sons Chuck (Michele Williams) and John of Overland Park, KS, nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one brother, two sisters and two sisters-in-law.
She was a nurse and one of the first nurses to work for Shawnee Mission Hospital and then she worked and retired from Gills Studios. She and Dale loved riding their Harley all over the country seeing new places. She was everybody’s “Mom” and believed you should “eat your pie first” in case you didn’t make it to the end of the meal.
