Michael B. Hamilton, 68, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015. Michael was born on January 14, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Fred and Bonnie (Freeman) Hamilton. He attended WW Yates Elementary School, Lincoln Jr. High School and Manuel High School, graduating with honors. Michael attended Lincoln University, obtaining a BS degree in Business Administration. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Michael joined the Army February 26, 1970. He was a second Lt. and received an honorable discharge in November 1971. Michael was an avid golfer, enjoying times at Hillcrest Country Club. He had also been a president at the KC Swingers Golf association. Michael also loved playing the stock market. He worked for IBM in the 1970’s and then started working for the U.S. Department of Education in 1977 and retiring in 2004, as a program manager. Michael grew up in the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ, under Rev. James D. Tindall and had recently joined the First Baptist Church of Quindaro.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Vicki L. (Taylor) Hamilton, daughter Deserea Joi Hamilton, step-sons Adrian Smith and Taylor High, brothers Fred Hamilton and Larry Hamilton. One niece, one nephew; and a host of family and close friends. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bonnie, his sister Mildred Jackson and a brother, Norman Hamilton.
