Michael A. Lonchar, 54, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away February 10, 2009, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 16, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, SFC George Martin Lonchar of Blue Springs, Mo. He is survived by his mother, Rachael Gorman, Prairie Village, Kan.; sister Judy Y. Smith, Overland Park, Kan., and several nieces and a nephew in the Kansas City area. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins in the area.
Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the U.S. and Korea. Michael previously had been employed as a manufacturer's representative with Youthcraft Coats and Suits in Kansas City. He also owned his own business of designing and manufacturing ladies hair products. Michael resided in the Kansas City area most of his life and his many friends will miss his sardonic wit and sense of humor. Arrangements: D.W. Newcomer's Sons, at (913) 451- 1860.
