Mike McCormick, 82, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11th at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Autism Research Institute at www.autism.com.
Mike was born on February 6, 1927, in Leona, KS. He was a graduate of K-State University and a Navy veteran of World War II. Mike was a beloved husband and loving father to his four children, and grandfather to his eight grandchildren. He most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy; his children, Kris (Curt) Elder, Michelle (Mark) Sabo, Mike (Brenda) McCormick and Catherine Blaesing; and his grandchildren, Ian and Evan Elder, Matt and Elyse Sabo, Joshua and Jenna McCormick and Sarah and Samantha Blaesing.
