Mildred Kirksey Orr was born on April 2, 1910 in Mexia, Texas. She passed away at the age of 97 on May 11, 2007 in Lubbock, Texas where she lived the last 11 years of her life. She had been a resident of Overland Park, Kansas for many years. She was a homemaker and the widow of H. Dayton Orr, retired T.W.A. captain who died in 1993. They had been married for 61 years.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her son Joe K. Orr (Jean) of Overland Park, Kansas, her daughter Danna Sue Dixon (E.B.) of Lubbock, Texas, grandchildren Joni David Davis (Keith) of Overland Park, Kansas, Jill Kueser (Ralph) of Louisburg, Kansas, Bret Dixon (Jayme) of Colleyville, Texas, Ebeth Dawson (Steve) of Lubbock, Texas, Cara Smith (Kyle) of Dallas, Texas, fifteen great grandchildren, as well as many other family and friends with whom she shared her life. She was a member of the Overland Park Nazarene Church.
Visitation will be held at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS on Wednesday, May 16 from 1:00 ? 2:00 p.m. The service will follow immediately conducted by Dr. Paul Bassett. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens ? indoor mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
