Mildred (Millie) Hunter, of Basehor, Kansas went to be with her Creator on November 17, 2014 at
Providence Medical Center after many years battling Alzheimer’s disease and it’s medical complications. Millie was fortunate to be well cared for while battling this disease by her dedicated granddaughter, Jill and her husband Jerome Brown.
Millie was born in Concordia Missouri to Lisa and Henry Oetting. In 1948 Millie married Glenn (Pooch) R. Hunter and they began their lives together. Millie worked as a keypunch operator for Safeway and sold Maytag Appliances. Millie found great joy in dancing at the Pla-Mor Ballroom of Kansas City, various sewing projects, and gardening of all kinds. Her gardening specialty included her amazing Lilac bushes. Millie’s love for the outdoors extended beyond her own backyard, as she had a great love for traveling. Millie and Pooch traveled over the years to many mountain tops and sea sides. Tennis was Millie’s sport of choice and spent many days on the golf course with Pooch. Millie and Pooch were devout Lutherans and were members at Zion Lutheran Church of Prairie Village, Kansas and later were members at Bethany Lutheran Church of Overland Park, Kansas.
Millie is preceded in death by her husband Glenn (Pooch) Hunter; brother Irving (Pete) Oetting; sisters Ester Frike; Edna Oetting; and Iona Patrick. Millie is survived by her two sons and wives, Trill and Marcia Hunter, David and Sherri Hunter; her sisters Minerva Dankenbring, Jeanette Rasmussen and Berdine Thomas; nephews Mark Oetting, Dennis Oetting, Jim Oetting, Terry Oetting, Clarann Oetting, Paul Patrick, James Patrick, Mike Hunter, and Dennis Hunter; nieces Susan Thomas, Rita Rubick, Chris Reume, Linda Stronach; Grandchildren Scott Hunter and wife Krista, Nicholas Hunter and Wife Katharine, Jill Brown and husband Jerome and Kelly Hunter; Great grandchild Kaisley Hunter, daughter of Scott and Krista Hunter.
Services will be Saturday November 22, 2014. Visitation will begin at 10:00 in the morning with the funeral service immediately following, at Johnson County Memorial Chapel. Funeral arrangements will be handled through Johnson County Funeral Chapel.

Your donation will help find a cure to this devastating disease. Millie will always be in our hearts a giving woman with a Zest for life.
