Mistie Lea Parker, 49, died of breast cancer on March 10, 2020 surrounded by her family and friends.

Mistie was born on July 10, 1970 in Independence, MO. Mistie was the second child of James and Sharon Parker, following sister, Christie. Her childhood was adventurous with many camping and canoeing trips with her family. Indian Princesses was a childhood favorite with her Dad and sister. Mistie played basketball for many years growing up. She graduated in 1988 from William Chrisman High School in Independence. Mistie married David Babiuch in 1988. She and David had 3 children, Colten (31), and the twins: Brooke and Brenan (27) prior to ending their marriage.

Mistie spent her career in Sales. A few years at ADT Security and the last 16 years at Freightquote, where she made many lifelong friends.

Mistie was forever changed when her granddaughter, Sofiya, arrived in 2009. Sofiya was her absolute joy and Mistie cherished her time being Sofiya’s “Mimi”. Mistie loved her family farm and spent much time there, fishing, working, and riding ATVs. Mistie enjoyed traveling and adventurously experiencing everything along the way. She loved her dog, Josey, and fostered many puppies during her illness. She knew that puppies are the antidote to chemotherapy. Mistie is loved by so many people. The impact of her beautiful smile and gregarious personality will stay with us always.

Mistie is preceded in death by all of her grandparents and her beloved Aunt Diana and Aunt Marty; Uncles: Richard, Bill, Dick, Gary, Jimmy, Danny and John; Cousins: Brian and John John. She is survived by her parents, James and Sharon; her children, Colten, Brooke and Brenan; her granddaughter, Sofiya; and her sister, Christie and brother in law, Cory; Uncles- Kenny, Rich, and Roger; Aunts- Patty, Mary and Janet; and many loving cousins and their children; as well as too many friends to count.
