Jean M. Kennedy
Jean Mary (Kintzle) Kennedy, 64, Stilwell, Kansas passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 following a short illness.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 14201 Nall, Leawood, KS. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Tuesday November 25, 2008 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the grandchildren’s education fund c/o the funeral home or Catholic Charities, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, KS 66102.
Jean was born March 12, 1944 in Monticello, Iowa, to Agnes and Irvin Kintzle. She was married to John Kennedy from Ryan, Iowa on August 16, 1969. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Jean and John raised their family in Illinois, Texas, and Kansas. She began her career as a hairdresser and most recently was employed by Highland Brokerage as a Commodity Specialist.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael in 1984; father, Irvin in 1992; and mother, Agnes in 2008.
Survivors include her husband, John; sons, Tim (Theresa) and their children Will and Lucy, Brad and his children, Mikayla and Reece; Scott; 9 Siblings, Al (Ronda) Kintzle, Jerry Kintzle, Dale Kintzle, Dave Kintzle, Jan Burback, Rick (Anita) Kintzle, Ruth Ann (Mike) Finnell, Kathy (Mark) Harris, and Mark Kintzle.
Jean was a generous and free spirit who loved all people. She knew how to find humor in any situation. Her favorite past time was to be with John, the love of her life, her three boys and their families, especially at their lake house. Her four grandchildren brought her joy that is beyond words. She has left her footprints on our hearts and will be missed tremendously.
