John M. Meulmester, 61, Overland Park passed away November 3, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, November 7, 2009 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 3:00 P.M., also in the chapel. John was born October 23, 1948 in Kansas City, Kansas. He worked as a Resident Project Representative for George Butler and BHC Rhodes Engineering. John enjoyed his trips to Mexico with his family and best friends, Tony and Jeri Lynn VanOster. He also took pleasure in spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Janice Smith Meulmester; daughter, Jill Gomez and her husband Rick; son, Jason Michael Meulmester and his wife, Nicole; grandchildren, Chase, Hayden, Ryan, and Megan; sisters, Barbara Stafos and her husband John; and Diane Mathis and her husband Kenneth; and brother Richard Meulmester.
The family would like to thank the members of Odyssey Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
