Muriel Grace Glick, 89, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at her home in Overland Park, Kansas.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66204.
Muriel was born the fifth of five children, on October 2, 1923, in Berlin Wisconsin, to Samuel and Rebecca Cookson.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary.
Muriel is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert; sons, John (Rose) and Steven (Vicki); daughters, Becky (Duncan) and Susan (Rick); eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was devoted to her husband and five children. She enjoyed and cherished her family and friends. Muriel loved to travel with her husband, read, talk politics and play the piano. She worked at Shawnee Mission West High School as the school Registrar. As a young woman, she attended Fort Hays State University, where she was an active member of the Teachers Sorority. Muriel volunteered many years at Shawnee Mission Hospital where she served as Secretary and Hospitality chairwoman for the Women's Auxiliary. She will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her. She was full of laughter, wisdom and a loving spirit.
