Nancy Jeanne Boyer, aka The Travel Queen, has succumbed to a 2 ? year battle with cancer, passing on to her next life on October 14, 2008. Her final 2 weeks were spent at the wonderful Kansas City Hospice House, while the last 15 years she resided in Overland Park, KS.
Nancy was born Nancy J Marye on Feb 6, 1963, in Great Bend, KS, the daughter of John & Marilyn Marye. She graduated from Valley Falls High School, in Valley Falls, KS, in 1981. She also attended Emporia St & Washburn Universities.
Nancy married Philip L Boyer on June 1, 1985, who survives at their home, along with the love of her life, Truman The Dog. She is also survived by her parents, of Topeka, KS, brothers Rusty Marye of Overland Park & Jeff Marye of Olathe, KS, his wife Mandy, Nancy?s niece & nephew Bailey & Nicholas, and her Grandmother Marjorie May of San Jose, CA.
Nancy spent most of her adult life working in the travel industry, earning the unofficial title of ?Travel Queen? because of all her good works. Her final position was as an Account Manager for Shorts Travel.
Nancy will be cremated, with Services to be held at Blue Valley Christian Church, 12251 Lamar Ave, Overland Park, KS on Tuesday, Oct 21, 2008. Visitation will take place beginning at 1pm, with memorial service followed by fellowship at 2pm.
