Nancy Leota Evans, 82, of the Village of Loch Lloyd, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2024 at Kansas City Hospice House. A service and interment is being held at Johnson County Memorial Gardens on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:30 a.m.

Nancy was born in 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Howard (Hatty) Lester Hatfield and Mary Frances McCleery. After graduating from Wyandotte High School, she attended community college then began her career managing businesses. In 1987, she married John and they later started a successful engineering company together. Hospitality and gifting were her love languages and she spoiled her family for decades with incredible family meals, gifts and fun gatherings, especially Christmas! In her free time, she enjoyed their home at Lake of the Ozarks, trips to New York with her daughters, antiques, Wyandotte High School Reunion Committee get togethers, Loch Lloyd Garden Club, and never missed a Chiefs Football game.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hatty Hatfield (Bea) and Mary McCleery (Tom), her former husband Roger L. Edwards, Brother Michael McCleery and Brother-In-Law Wayne. She is survived by her husband John M. Evans, daughters Amy Edwards and Becky Edwards-Martz (Dwayne), stepchildren John Michael Evans and Michelle Clark (Dennis), grandsons Andrew and Mathew Martz, Siblings Jim Hatfield (Diana) and Kathleen Barnes (Wayne), Sister-In-Law Kathy McCleery, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to Safehome Women’s Shelters where she served for many years.
