Nancy Jane Hanahan, age 79, died at 3:25 PM on November 8, 2018 at her home in Overland Park, Kansas, following a long and progressive illness, starting with the removal of her cancerous right lung 7 years ago. Nancy has been the wife of Lloyd B. Hanahan for 57 years and they have resided in Overland Park more than 50 years.
Nancy is the daughter of Lloyd E. and Earlene (Richards) Youngblood, both deceased. She is survived by her sister, Joanne (Youngblood) Harrah, who lives with her husband, Bill, in Georgetown, TX; her daughter (Kelly) residing in Olathe, Kansas; her son John (daughter-in-law, Janice (Swickard) and three grandchildren, Megan, Jack and Luke, of Overland Park.
Nancy’s life ambition was to be a housewife and mother, which she achieved. She had a lifelong active interest in Republican Party politics, but self-limited herself to an elected precinct committee woman and a delegate to one National Republican Convention!
A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, service 11 AM, on Tuesday, November 13, at Blue Valley Baptist Church, 8925 151st St, Overland Park, KS 66221. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 9501 159th St, Overland Park, KS 66221.
Your participation in the visitation/services will be appreciated. Only if you choose, sending flowers or donating to Blue Valley Baptist Church or a charity of your choice, in honor of Nancy, will be appreciated.
