Nancy Kay Hertog, age 79, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on June 27, 2023. She was born on August 10, 1943, in Saint Paul, Minnesota to Nils and Ellen (Carlson) Wallin.
She graduated from Harding High School in 1961 and was a member of the National Honor Society and a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. She attended Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
On December 21st,1963, Nancy married Adrian Hertog in Saint Paul, Minnesota. They were married for almost 60 years and had one son, James.
She lived in Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Texas before returning to Overland Park, Kansas. She worked for Sherwin-Williams in Kansas and Texas as a bookkeeper. She retired after 30 years of service. Nancy and Adrian loved to travel. Some of their favorite trips were to Alaska, Canada, Central Europe, Scandinavia, and Russia.
Nancy was an avid reader her entire life. Her favorite thing was spending time with her granddaughters, Natalie, and Rebecca, and attending every event they had.
She is survived by her husband Adrian, of the home, and son James (Karen), granddaughters Natalie and Rebecca, all of Shawnee Kansas, brother Gerald (Janet) of Reno, Nevada, and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents and older brother, Doctor Lloyd Wallin.
