Nancy Jo Rockwell, 71, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013.
Nancy was born April 15, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN to John & Ruth (Brickell) Rockwell.
She lived with her family for 3 years in Omaha, NE before moving to Leawood, KS in 1951. She belonged to the Leawood Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Shawnee Mission East H.S. in 1960. She attended Colorado College, Kansas City Art Institute, & Avila College. Nancy enjoyed her pets & creating items of beauty: sewing clothing, embroidery, crocheting, knitting, & making Easter & Christmas items. She loved decorating for Christmas & Easter celebrating special occasions
She was preceded in death by her parents, nephew-Bryan Burt, & grandniece-Ashley (Prothro) Trant.
Nancy is survived by her 2 sisters, Arlene (Allen) Burt and Patricia (Charles) Stapleton; 2 nieces: Kimberly (Burt) Prothro, Cynthia (Burt) Luft; 4 nephews: Christopher, John Scott, Thatcher and Matthew Alexander.
The family will greet friends from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. A graveside service will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., Kansas City, KS 66111.
