Nancy Tomlinson

Nancy was born in Anniston, Alabama to John and Katie Holley.  She graduated from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma and received a master’s degree in special education from University of Kansas.  She married Robert Tomlinson in May of 1971.

She is preceded in death by her parents.  Nancy is survived by her husband, Robert Tomlinson, her brother, John Holley (Barbara Holley), her daughters, Jamie Tomlinson (Cleveland Gordon)  and Emily Tomlinson (Matthew Martinek), and her grandchildren, Tom and Abby Martinek.

Nancy was a classroom teacher in Kansas City, Kansas and then became a Reading Specialist for the Olathe School District.  She was devoted to helping her students to become avid readers throughout her 27 years as a teacher.  In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling the world.  She loved to go on cruises and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. She was so excited to be a grandmother and loved taking care of her grandchildren and grand-dogs.  Nancy and Robert celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May.  Nancy was an amazing wife, mom and grandma.  She loved spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed by all of us.  It was Nancy’s wishes that no service be held.
