Nancy Lee Coleman Weeks, 79, of Linn Valley, KS passed away peacefully on January 21, 2022, with her children by her side. Nancy lived a fulfilling life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be sorely missed and forever loved and remembered.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Kansas City and was born on April 3, 1942 to Jerry Dickens Coleman and Mary Wilana Burkhardt Coleman. She was very outgoing as a cheerleader and homecoming queen at Southeast High School where she graduated. After graduation she met her future husband Richard Barry Weeks while on vacation in Noel, MO. One of their favorite memories was pulling off the road and dancing to some of their favorite tunes. Nancy and Barry were married 59 years and raised 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Through her life she continued to enjoy sports and love to cheer for KU basketball and the KC Royals.
Nancy’s greatest joy was her family and her passion for children. She was very involved in her 4 children’s lives and never missed a game or school activity. When friends came over, she always made sure they felt comfortable and had a snack. Nancy worked tirelessly to meet all the family’s different schedules and activities, while maintaining a healthy structure. She also was a member involved in the PTA and supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
