Naomi Ruth Wickey Lomax, 77, Olathe, KS, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Naomi was born October 24, 1938 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Guy Ferguson and Blanche Marie (Whitmore) McVay. Naomi was a cosmetologist and worked as a manager of Snip and Clip’ as well became owner and operator of her own stores. She went to nursing school and worked at KU Medical Center in the pediactric unit. She had such a great love for children and ran a day care for over 15 years. She was lovingly referred to as “Mama Wickey”. Naomi loved to travel, especially to Florida where she loved the ocean and the beach and she loved to cook. Her parents preceded her in death along with six brothers and sisters. She married Charles E. Lomax on June 10, 1998. He survives of the home. Also surviving are her children; Michael Wickey (JoAnn Lopez), Mission, KS, Michele Summers (Dave), Olathe, KS, Russell Wickey, Olathe, KS, Danny Wickey (Breanna), Gardner, KS, brother, John McVay (Nancy), Council Bluffs, IA, grandchildren; Matthew Hunt, Andrew Hunt, Jacob Wickey, Brooke Wickey and Layne Wickey, step-children; Chaz Lomax, Arizona, Carol Hobbs, Chillicothe, MO, Gracie Allen, North Kansas City, MO, Clifton Lomax, Mendon, MO, 8 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM with a Rosary said at 6 PM, Sunday, May 24th at Johnson County Chapel, Overland Park, KS. A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lenexa, KS with burial to follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
