Mr. Neil Murphy

Neil Murphy, 71, Overland Park, KS, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2009, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd St. in Overland Park. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, where a Fallen Marine Presentation will be given. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Foundation (www.diabetes.org). Mr. Murphy was born October 5, 1938 in Wheeling, WV to Ben and Lil (Kelley) Murphy. A retired USMC MSGT, Mr. Murphy served in Vietnam. Upon retiring from the military, he spent 19 years with Sprint. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra, and five brothers. Survivors include his son, Jeff and his wife, Barb; beloved grandsons, Bradley, Kevin and Bryan. (Arr: D.W.
