Nellie Iva Jane Chance, 95, of Paola, formerly of Osawatomie and Overland Park, died Monday, February 12 at Louisburg Health Center and Rehab.
She was born March 25, 1911 in Nixa, Missouri to George and Mary Langley Parker. She graduated from high school in Elkland, Missouri and attended Drury College in Springfield, Missouri. She married Merle Obra Chance, an Assembly of God evangelist and pastor.
Mrs. Chance was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen Chance and wife Ann, of Winchester, Virginia, and Dwight Chance and wife Colleen, of Springfield, Missouri; her daughters, Grace Reavis and husband Calvin of Paola, Pat McFadden of Gables, South Carolina and Carol King and husband Bob of Duncanville, Texas; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was a prayer warrior who loved playing the piano and tending flowers. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and having them visit her home.
