Nellie June Myrick (Hallmark), 81, entered Heaven's gates on November 7, 2014. She passed away at the Benton House Assisted Living Facility in Prairie Village, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210.
Nellie was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on February 23, 1933. She married her childhood sweetheart and one and only love, Francis (Buck) Myrick on December 26, 1951.
Nellie worked for Mid-America Bank in Roeland Park, Kan., for 30 years. Upon her and Buck's retirement in 1992, they moved to El Dorado Springs, Mo., into their dream house set out on eight acres in the beautiful southern Missouri countryside.
Nellie had an unwavering faith in God. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene in El Dorado Springs, Mo., until she experienced a stroke in April 2013. Her children asked her to move back to Johnson County to be closer to them and their families. She was a talented artist, having painted over 50 pictures that adorn the walls in the homes of her family and friends.
Nellie was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Buck, parents, brother Albert Chandler. She is survived by her son, Gary Myrick and his wife Rachel of Overland Park; daughter Cindy Myrick-Terrell of Overland Park; three granddaughters, Macyn Terrell (11), Gracie Myrick (7), and Sarah Myrick (5); brother and sister-in-law Joe and Helen Chandler of Cedaredge, CO; and brothers and sisters.
