Neva was born on November 26, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri to Jack and Jennie Accurso. Neva graduated from Northeast High School in 1946. She also studied at the Kansas City Art Institute. Neva was employed by various law firms in Kansas City, Missouri and Johnson County. She became associated with United Telecom (now Sprint) in its legal department and retired from Sprint after 15 years of service. She was a member of the Paul H. Henson Pioneer Club and a member of the Legal Secretaries Association of Johnson County.
Neva was active in Beta Sigma Phi for 15 years, a member of the New Theatre Guild, Friends of Art at the Nelson Atkins Museum, and the Greater Kansas City Auxiliary for Citizens with Special Needs.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald A. Nicholson in 1999 and by her parents and three sisters, Ninfa Accurso, Frances Kramos, and Virginia Williams. Neva is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Julie Anne and Danny Bosley of LaCygne, Kansas and one granddaughter, Sydney Nicole Bosley. She is also survived by her brother Vincent Accurso (wife Maria) and sister Anna Marie McNeil, and many nieces and nephews.
