Nicholas Charles “Nick” Raynor, 24, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, after a brave fight with testicular cancer, surrounded by his family.
Nick was born May 3, 1990, in Kansas City, MO. Nick was a 2008 graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and camping. Nick also loved sports and was a huge Chiefs and Royals fan. He was very outgoing and a genuine person and this was reflected by the vast number of friends that visited during his courageous battle.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles Hartong and uncles, Joe Geisel IV and Dennis Cowan.
Nick is survived by his parents, William, Jr. and Judith Raynor; two brothers, Luke (Amber) and Andy (Natalie); nephew, Noah Nicholas; maternal grandmother, Carole Hartong, of Frontenac, KS; paternal grandparents, William, Sr. and Fran Raynor; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014, Curè of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS 66206. Interment will follow at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel.
