Nick Macaluso, 77, of Lenexa, passed away on February 15, 2008.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 17 from 5-7 p.m. with rosary at 6:30 pm, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. A memorial mass will celebrate Nick's life on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 4 pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1311 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS. There will be a private burial service at a later date.
Nick was a devoted father. He was President and founder of MVA, Inc. for 45 years. He was a member of Hillcrest Country Club where he displayed a life long passion for golf and was involved in many activities with a large circle of friends. He enjoyed traveling to various courses throughout the country.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Nick and Susie Macaluso, his brothers and sisters, including Santo and Tommy Smiroldo, Margerite Salpietro and Marie Licari. Survivors include the mother of his five children, Theresa Shields Macaluso, and his children, Susan Jo Rushing, husband Robert, Nick J. Macaluso, Dianne Darrah, husband Dell, James Macaluso, wife Laura, and Catherine Lode, husband Doug, his brother Joseph Macaluso and wife Louise, his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Bernice Smiroldo, his brother-in-law Jim Licari, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous relatives. He is also survived by a special friend Barbara Helsdon and her daughter, Whitney.
