Noel Nuessle

NOEL O. NUESSLE SR., 84, Overland Park, KS passed away on December 11, 2012 after a valiant struggle with recent health issues.
He was born in St Louis, MO. He earned a B.S. degree at St Louis College of Pharmacy.
He proudly served his country with 3rd Medical Battalion of the 3rd Infantry Division , U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean War. He returned to school, receiving a Master's degree and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Florida.
He was united in marriage to January 28, 1956 to Norma Ewing.
Dr. Nuessle taught 33 years at UMKC School of Pharmacy, touching the hearts of many students, alumni and staff.
He was a member of Kappa Psi and Sigma Xi fraternities; and a member of Rho Chi; he was active in the Boy Scouts, becoming a member of the Tribe of Mic O Say and a leader in his sons troops. He also was a member of the Korean War Veterans Chapter 181. He was an avid fly fisherman, spending many happy hours fishing at Bennett Springs with his children and grandchildren.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and an outstanding role model.
Dr. Nuessle was preceded in death by his parents Oliver & Dorothea (Stahl) Nuessle.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma; his children, Nick (Shelly) Nuessle, Nan Nuessle, Nea Nuessle, Noel (Polly) Nuessle Jr. and Nora (Ed) Lierz; his brother, Lowell (Joyce) Nuessle; 12 wonderful grandchildren, Mara, Kellye, Natalie, Elizabeth, Sean, Bill, Noel III, Eric, Kate, Kasey, Ryan, and Shelby.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at The Presbyterian Church of Stanley, 14895 Antioch Rd., Overland Park, KS 66221. Visitation from 12 - 2 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dr. Noel Nuessle Scholarship at the UMKC School of Pharmacy, Attn: Jana Boschert, 2464 Charlotte Street, KC, MO. 64108 or to The Presbyterian Church of Stanley.
