Mrs. Nona Martin Hacker

April 6, 1930 — June 13, 2014

Nona P. Martin Hacker of Magnolia, TX died peacefully in her home on June 13, 2014. Nona was born April 6, 1930 in Pleasant Gap, MO. She was the only child of Paul Henry and Fearn Rozelle Cumpton. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband of 59 ½ years, Jack Delbert Martin, son, David Bruce Martin and granddaughter Angela Nicole Allen Bergeron. She is survived by her loving husband of 6 years, John (Jack) I. Hacker, Magnolia, TX, daughter Jacqueline D. Jacobs (husband Jeff), Montgomery, TX, grandchildren, Jessica M. Allen, Leah D. Jenkins (husband Jeffrey) and Christopher D. Allen (finance Jessica Graber),  10 great grandchildren and her first cousin Helen Hughes.
She also leaves many good friends including Edith Spoor who she thought of as a sister. Nona loved her 31 years employment with V.T. Inc. until she retired in 2000 and made many good friends through her time with them. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a pilot that belonged to the International Organization of Licensed Women Pilots and she flew in the Powder Puff Derby in 1968. She was also a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital while living in the Kansas City area.  Nona will be greatly missed as wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend! Our loss on earth but heaven's gain! The celebration of Nona's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS with visitation beginning one hour prior. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the MS Society, the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
