Norma Pearl Hawkins, age 77, of Mission, Kansas, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and most special friend, passed away after a sudden illness on Wednesday, January 30, 2008.
Norma was born in Marceline, Missouri and was a member of Countryside Christian Church in Mission, Kansas. She was the best mother anyone could ask for. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord and taking care of her family. She was always there for all of us when we needed encouragement and gave her love freely to all her family and friends. She was so special to so many people and we will forever miss her loving caring and most generous heart.
Norma was preceded in death by her mother and father, Joseph and Mary Santus, and her husband of 58 years, Howard L. Hawkins. She will be greatly missed by her children, Jeff Hawkins, Pam Romine and her husband Harry, Jenny Moore and her husband Chris, Bobby Hawkins and his wife Stacy; grandchildren: Joseph Romine, Matthew McKechnie, Jason Hawkins, Brian Romine, Spencer Hawkins, Danny Moore, and Valarie Hawkins; sister, Dorothy Wittlinger; niece, Mary Ann Wittlinger; nephew, Mark Wittlinger and his children Crystal, Raymond, and Jackie; her loving companion Joseph Clinton Eastin and his son Craig Eastin and daughter Cynthia Miltenberger, her husband Mark, their daughter Jayme Carter and Robert Decker.
A celebration of her life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 4th at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas. A gathering of family and friends will be held 10:00 ? 11:00 a.m. Monday at the chapel preceding the service. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
